  1. ooh how fun! I love a good contest though I am not the best at reading at the beach cause I am a fidgety adventure traveler. However, Darcee loves to sit in her chair watching me crashing through the waves while she reads so I am going to try to win that Eleanor Oliphant book for her.
By the way, I have never even heard of the Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Joke Book. I have it on my bucket list to read two of his books: Going Solo & Boy cause they are about his crazy adventures but I bet his Joke book is hilarious. Such a creative and bizarre imagination!

  2. wow so many cool options! We live in Florida and go to the beach often so we appreciate a nice collection of books to bring to our beach visits thanks for the suggestions

    1. 🙂 we visited a couple of beaches on our trip to Orlando this past December and loved the Atlantic coast just as much as we do our Pacific beaches here in the Bay Area of California

  3. Thank you so much for the information, I’m so glad to find my country is on the list for Book Depository so that I can join the giveaway. Will definitely do it! 🙂

    1. 🙂 will check it out… but we enjoyed our visit to Oregon last summer… (and we did visit a couple of beaches, though most of our trip was further inland – Crater Lake, Ashland, and around)

  4. Wow, so many options! Thanks for sharing these! I’ve been wanting to start reading more but about to have a newborn in less than 3 months so we’ll see if I actually achieve my goal…

    1. wow, that is an exciting time to look forward to indeed
.. for me, the next thing we look forward to is summer vacations for the kids (and when that starts, we start waiting for school to start)..

  5. I don’t know, I only went to the beach once and I don’t think I read there! (I did at the hotel, though, but I don’t think that counts 😉 )

  6. Great list! Wish I could read at the beach, but sadly I’m chasing my toddler and/or dog most of the time. Ha! I’ve heard lots of good things about Me Talk Pretty One Day. Thanks for the reminder to put it on my list.

  7. I’ve been looking for new books to read with my son (who gets tired of them rather quickly) so I appreciated this post. What a great list! Looking forward to doing some reading at the beach myself 😉

  8. So many choices. I am currently reading Little Fires Everywhere. I seem so distracted lately. Maybe sitting in the beach will help me focus. Fun contest.

  9. There’s nothing better than a day at the beach!! I’ll be sure to pick up a few of these titles for the summer! We spend a few months at the shore every summer 🙂

  10. This is a great giveaway. I don’t get to read on the beach but I do love curling up on my couch to read a great book.

  11. Such a cool giveaway! Hope there are deserving winners. I myself never went out to a beach with a book. Though I would love now. Beach in itself is very therapeutic and I would rather enjoy the view but every experience counts so I would love def love to take my book the next time I visit a beach.

  12. I am not a fan of the beach except to look at from a balcony. My favorite beach to sit on a balcony, read a book, and look at the water is Panama City Beach in Florida.

  13. I was just out stocking up on summer reading material for both my kiddos and myself- we have a road trip to the beach planned next month, so plenty of reading time ahead!

  14. I’d say rocky beaches, because to most of the people they’re uncomfortable and expecially children don’t go there, so they’re quite and not so crowded…
I maybe sound like anti-social, but I love to read in peace…

  15. Oh I love going to our local lake beach! They have a fun beach and playarea for the kids! We love to go and play …and read! So relaxing listening to the waves come in!
