Fantastic Finds: The Bookish Things
Here are a few cool bookish items that I enjoy. Some I got to gift others and some to myself/my family. Others are on my wishlist for later.
Building Sets for Book Lovers and Lego Lovers
This LEGO Ideas Pop-up Book is so very cool in concept and sure to challenge and thrill everyone! This is the first-ever pop-up book made from LEGO bricks featuring 2 classic fairy tales: Little Red Riding Hood with grandmother’s lovely forest cottage and Jack and the Beanstalk with the giant’s castle in the clouds.
If you are Belle fan like I am, then this 111 piece LEGO Disney Belle’s Storybook Adventures is perfect. It is for everyone 5 and older. In addition, I love many of the Harry Potter and Star Wars as well as Marvel themed LEGO sets. I have a couple of Star Wars sets as my son went through a phase once 🙂 And i got him this cute LEGO BrickHeadz Star Wars: The Mandalorian & The Child last year for his birthday (he turned 20 then, but we were in the Mandalorian watching phase!).
I also love bookshop sets, and a couple of them caught my eye, including this one – ZYLEGEN Corner Bookstore Micro Block Set
Bonus
And I have updated my Etsy bookish gift guide from last year, so be sure to check that out! You will not be disappointed.
Fantastic Finds: The Non-Bookish Stuff
These are items I know my 18-yo teenager will love.
Sol de Janeiro
The Sol de Janeiro series of mists. My daughter loves them and says they smell great. Her friend gifted her one for her birthday in February. Maybe now it is time I did so!? They have different ones and here is a brief look at them
- Cheirosa 40: A captivating blend of Black Amber plum, jasmine blooms, and vanilla woods inspired by Rio’s 1840 Carnaval Ball.
- Cheirosa 62: An irresistible Sol de Janeiro perfume mist, marrying gourmand notes with the sophistication of sandalwood.
- Rio Radiance: A beachy solar floral mist with warm petals and coconut milk, evoking sunshine on the skin.
- Cheirosa 68: Fresh and vibrant fruity floral mist featuring Brazilian jasmine and pink dragonfruit.
- Cheirosa ’71: A warm and cozy amber gourmand mist with the luxurious scent of cashmere, caramel, and vanilla spice.
e.l.f Brand
Then there is the e.l.f. brand that gives you great quality at affordable prices, and one other brand that my teen enjoys as well. And I love that all e.l.f. products are 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and leaping bunny certified!
Start with the e.l.f. Power Grip Primer to prep your skin. This gel-based face primer has the power to grip your makeup while giving skin a natural finish for a smoother complexion and it moisturizes too! The e.l.f Cosmetics Glossy Lip Stain offers lots of luxe for your lips. Color that stays put, a healthy sheen, and comfortable wear. Pair it up with e.l.f. Lash ‘N Roll Mascara which gives you lots of curl and lots of lift too.
A couple more cool finds
I am loving the sound and look of this Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer with Ceramides and Peptides from LANEIGE! It comes in various size options and the smaller ones might be just right for travel. I am always in need of a good moisturizer while I know I need to start adding a skin toner to my skin care routine, so this one makes it easy, right?!
And there is the Green Tea Hyaluronic Acid Face Cleanser from innisfree, one I know both my kids will love to help clear their skin.

5. My List of a Few Austen (Inspired) Reads
- Austenland by Shannon Hale (Women’s Fiction). I read it ages ago and have a copy at home but did not review it ever here. But recommend it for all Austen fans for sure!!
- Bridget Jones’s Diary by Helen Fielding (Women’s Fiction).Read the books, watched the movies, enjoyed them both!
- Hearts, Strings, and Other Breakable Things by Jacqueline Firkins (YA fiction). My review here.
- The Jane Austen Society by Natalie Jenner (Historical Fiction). This post for my review.
- The Library of Lost Things by Laura Taylor Namey as well! Not a direct adaptation but inspired by Austen for sure as mentioned in the book’s description itself.
- Manga Classics: Sense and Sensibility / Pride and Prejudice. I enjoyed all the books in the Manga Classics(10 of the 19 that I have read), but seems like did not talk about these two Austen books in my review. But my thoughts on these books are the same as for the others reviewed in the linked post, plus it is Austen!
- Pride and Prejudice (Marvel Illustrated): The Graphic Edition by Jane Austen; adapted by Nancy Butler and illustrated by Hugo Petrus. Check my thoughts on the book in this post (<3 <3 it)
And Now, the End of This List
Dear reader, have you read the featured book – You: The Story? Any other similar books? Which of the books/gift items appeals to you the most?
I think Belle’s Storybook is the one that we have – maybe it’s a Cinderella one. I don’t know – there are so many Legos that it’s hard to keep track 😉 Great finds!
Excited to dive into the LEGO Ideas Pop-up Book – such a cool concept! Also, those Sol de Janeiro mists are on my must-try list for my teen.
Some great book ideas! Teens are alway the hardest to buy for.
I loved the bookish memes they are so cool! And these finding are amazing….
I have several friends who have walked all or part of the Camino de Santiago. One couple walked it trying to save their marriage but it was too little too late, sadly.
So funny I opened this post and my hubby asks me what are you ready and I said bookish Legos and he loved it.
I would love to try those mists! I’m a big fan of scents, and I love trying new ones.
I love all the book gift ideas. Books are the best! You have some awesome non book ideas too.
The Lego book would be a great gift for my boys. They love Legos.
I love these great ideas. I know of a few people who would love this.
It’s fantastic to see such a range in these bookish sets. From the beloved Disney characters to the allure of Harry Potter and Star Wars, there’s something for everyone!
Those lego scene sets are so neat! I love it when there are crossovers with interests and we get things that can help us physically visualize scenes from stories.
That Lego Ideas Pop-Up book would be perfect for my nephew! Thanks for making me aware of it! He will love it!
I will have to check the lip stain. I love a good lip stain and I’ve never tried that brand before.
Woah! Those are amazing! I personally like the yoda figurine! It’s so cute!
Those Lego sets are the coolest and Legos have come a long way I have to admit. I absolutely always loved legos as a kid and these new kits are incredible! Great gift ideas here!
Wow what fun finds! My daughter would love those Legos sets and I am a huge fan of the ELF brand!
