It has been just over a week since I posted, but seems like a whole lot more. A life now has been reduced to a lifetime of memories we need to treasure. This week, our family bid adieu to a loved aunt. She was energy and warmth personified – an inspiration for everyone around her. Losing another loved family member so soon after my father (who passed away last November), and both to cancer, was tough.
At such times, one question that arises, no matter what is ‘WHY?’ And that WHY is so inclusive – has so many other questions within it, so many emotions that swirl within. Dwelling on that seems to lead nowhere, however (at least for me).
One of the things that comforts me is the immense legacy they left behind – the memories, the joy they spread everywhere, the lives they touched. And I can only hope to do at least an iota of what they accomplished. To everyone who ever knew them, even if momentarily, they were unforgettable, they were instant friends, they were simply human.
Forever in my heart.

I am sorry for your loss. I like your emphasis on legacy and memory. Well stated.
