Simply Sunday – Daring Dreams

This was a poem I wrote over two years ago and had it on a forgotten word document in my hard drive. As I looked over the contents recently, I found this and it is something that still rings true for me.
Do give me your comments on this..:)
What is it about dreams?
Dreams seem to be where I am at my best.
I am a superwoman, one with magical talents,
A wonderful way I get with words in my dreams –
My poems perfectly rhyme, and if they don’t
They are hidden with meaning, for sure.
The stories I weave, they are so wonderful that I believe
The conversations I have leaves people asking for more.
A stupendous talent I possess at home –
For keeping my counters gleaming and more
I churn out lip-smacking dishes and nothing is a chore
My parties can never be called a bore.
And then I wake up and realize I cannot even grasp
On to the memories of the dreams I just had..
They are distant and hazy, like the clouds past the horizon
And reality stares at me with a grin..

A new Meme – Succinctly Yours – I discovered this meme recently by way of The Story Treasury blog. and this is my first entry. This meme has the following rules:
Use the weekly photo as inspiration for a story of 140 characters OR
140 words. It doesn’t have to be exactly 140, just not more. Want more challenge? Use the word of the week in your story. This part is optional.

This week’s challenge word: jubilant and the photo along with my entry is below (139 characters)

Down a one-way street he went,

In jubilant leaps and bounds.

After he turned ‘round the bend,

His friend he had left behind was what he found.

  1. Your poem is lovely. I've tried to keep a dream journal, but find I've lost memory of most of what I wanted to jot down before I've ever had a chance to pick up the pen!

Nice microfiction. Fits well with the photo.
