Teetotaciously Thursday – Happy Birthday, San Jose!

What is Teetotaciously? –
It means totally, completely, absolutely – and is just a totally-tall version of totally which was used in Old American. These tall words were spoken more than used in writings except the occasional news article. And though I love the simpler version of words myself, it will be fun to explore Old American as well as tall-words across the world!

And what does Teetotaciously Thursday mean – of course Thursday is always totally, completely, absolutely Thursday – so it just means that, for now!

For Alphabe
Thursday
– where the letter this week is B – I am wishing a Happy Birthday to San Jose! Today happens to be
the 235th birthday of San Jose, CA. Per wikipedia, ‘El Pueblo de San José de Guadalupe (The Town of Saint Joseph of Guadalupe) was founded by José Joaquín Moraga on November 29, 1777, the first pueblo-town not associated with a mission or a military post (presidio) in upper Las Californias.’

San Jose is the third-largest city in California and a technology hub and the self-titled “capital of Silicon Valley”. It is culturally diverse, has more than 300 days of sunshine each year, and home to many technology companies, colleges, and universities. The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library is a magical wonderland – with eight stories of books – and a wonderful view of the city at the top! There are also many attractions – as beautiful as the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden and as haunted as the Winchester Mystery House.

I love San Jose (of course, I have to, since the last line on my address is San Jose, CA!) and also for what it is.

Happy Birthday, San Jose!

And for Theme Thursday, where the theme is Whispers, here is my contribution today:

Without sound
Hush
Inaudible
Soft
Pin-drop
Ever so quiet
Reticent
Silent

Word
Hint
Innuendo
Say what?
Prattle
Earful
Rumor
Secret

Whispers – I hear them a lot, at night,
in the soft-white of the night-light
after story-time, a good-night kiss, and sometimes counting sheep
the kids are supposed to be asleep! 🙂
and what the whispers say,
they always bring a smile my way..
