Why Emma retellings? Because if you hadn’t already heard, Clueless is loosely based on Emma.

Description
A joyful romantic comedy retelling of Jane Austen’s Emma!
I know what you’re thinking: poor little rich girl, she has everything, what else could she possibly need? Well, I’m looking for the great love of my life, thank you very much.
For Long Island native Humaira Mirza, it’s always been about love – and she has the matchmaking track record to prove it. Having successfully found ‘the one’ for both her aunt and her sister, the twenty-three-year-old is ready to claim a bit of romance for herself.
The perfect candidate? The gorgeous Rizwan Ali. But as Humaira employs her unique skills to obtain the perfect match with Rizwan, she’s forced to endure the disapproval of family friend Fawad Sheikh who she’s known forever. Fawad and Humaira have long traded barbs but as her romantic meddling leads to unintentional misadventures, she realises something shocking – is she starting to care what Fawad thinks?

August is National Romance Awareness Month. Do you have a favorite romantic book to suggest to other readers eager to celebrate love through literature?
One of my favorite short reads which is all about love is The Gift of the Magi. If you consider a stand alone book, then I would recommend Pride and Prejudice, Tess of the D’Urbervilles (it made me weep copiously, but), Gone With the Wind (I know, not really a romance as such but then again), and for series, I would recommend The Bridgertons by Julia Quinn, The Cynster series by Stephanie Laurens, and The Hathaways by Lisa Kleypas.
5 Other Retellings for You

And Now, the End of This Post
Dear reader, have you read Emma? Or watched Emma? Or Clueless? What about the listed books? Do you have any other retellings or adaptations to recommend? Do let me know
I’ve read one retelling of Emma. If my memory serves it was called Emma by Alexander McCall Smith. I love his sense of humor so I enjoyed it. I love this post.
I’d be happy to be reading any book this week. I’ve been so busy lately. This post is inspiring me, thought!
All of those books sound really good. I need to read some of these. I’ll be keeping these on my list.
Now this has to be my ultimate reading list! I loved the film Clueless and will be hunting out these books
I had no idea that there were these many retellings of Emma. Will definitely check them out including the Little Women retellings you mentioned.
By the way, how can I join the book blogger hop?
I have read some of these, but not all. I’ll have to read them as I love Clueless. I knew it was based on Emma and always thought that was neat.
All of these are good books, and I am familiar with a few of them. I would like to check out those I haven’t read yet like If I Loved You Less!
Cannot believe that Clueless is almost 30 years old! I loved that movie, and can you believe I never read Emma? Thanks for these delightful book suggestions!
I’m always looking for more AAPI reads. Will have to add Love Decoded by Jennifer Yen to my list!
I love it when contemporary authors put a modern spin on well loved classics! I’ll have to check out some (or all, honestly) of these titles.
This just made me feel so old – I had not realized Clueless was released so long ago! I’ll have to check out these other books!
I haven’t seen the movie clueless yet. I’ll have to watch it so I can understand what you are talking about. Thank you for sharing.

I love the movie Clueless when it came out. It does make me feel a little old knowing how long about it came out.
