Sunday Scribblings #222: May the Fourth and More Fun

Today is May the fourth, the day many Star Wars fans (and non-fans) might say ‘May the fourth be with you’ rather than a simple hi! But hey, it is that date after all!

Poetic Sundays: May the Force Be With You and All That

Today, a golden shovel poem as my mind keeps replaying the phrase – May the force be with you.. Photo below is of my backyard, as it is today, vibrantly in bloom – in full force!

may the bloom be with you!

They say that April’s showers bring flowers in May,
and now the proof—each leaf and petal plays the
part of sunlit spell, a soft, yet compelling force,
while wings zing past—bees buzz and hummingbirds just be,
drawn to dew and hue, where fragrance flows with
notes of joy that bloom and hum for you.

  1. Your golden shovel poem, and your garden (!), are fantastic. So much fun. Thank you so much for opening my eyes early in the month to NaPoWriMo. I did several of the prompts this year, and I hope to do more later.

  2. This is such an awesome poem. And I am a Star Wars fan so I did tell people May the fourth be with you 🙂

  3. May the 4th is a special day for me. I was married many years ago on that day before it was a Star Wars day/.

  4. I loved the creative poem and all the little celebrations you packed in—definitely gave me some ideas to enjoy with my kids this week. It’s nice to be reminded of the small joys, like Family Reading Week and even Lost Sock Memorial Day.

  5. Love the poem! I don’t know a whole lot about Star Wars honestly, but I love this. I’ve always remembered May the 4th be with you as well though.

  6. I always love reading your posts and the poem for May 4th was perfection! I will be back and appreciate you writing and sharing!
