Saturday Memes…

Saturday Memes:

Saturday Snapshot is a meme hosted by Alyce at At Home with Books. All
you have to do is “post a photo that you (or a friend or
family member) have taken and then leave a direct link
to your post in the Mr. Linky on [her] blog. Photos can
be old or new, and be of anything as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give is up to you.” All she asks is that you don’t just post random photos that you find online.

“Aren’t I a handsome fellow?”, he seems to ask me as I try to get a closer look. He was just inches away from arms length as I gazed at him. And, man, was I envious of the girl who came by next and actually managed to pet him..!
I am talking about the giraffe pictured here. I captured this shot today as I sat on the top of a jeep at Safari West in Santa Rosa, CA. He was just inches away from me (just a little away from arms length). As our jeep moved away to let the next group come by, he moved a little closer towards the jeeps and the girl who was in the next jeep (sitting where I was in ours!) actually petted him as he nuzzled towards her.. (lucky her!)
Note: He is going to be the hero of my Travel Thursday post for next week

  1. That is so cool! I love safari parks like that, but I've never gotten that close to a giraffe before (although an ostrich did try to stick it's head in our car once when I was very little – it's my only memory from that particular trip).

  2. Wow!! Thank you all.. Must pass on the compliments to Dozer.. that is his name.. I will be sending an email to the staff at the Safari to thank them for our wonderful experience and will pass on all these compliments
