My Tuesday Memes – Sep 11th

This week’s Top Ten Theme at The Broke and the Bookish is Top Ten Books that make you think. I love reading and I think all books (well, almost all) make you think. Getting together a list of ten books that made me think was to recall the books I thought about long after I read about them and about why/what/how in the book. There are more books that fit this category but I decided to stick with just the first ten :
  1. Lord of the Flies
  2. The Diary of a Young Girl
    – Anne Frank
  3. The Kite Runner
  4. The Book Thief
  5. Cutting for Stone
  6. Last Man in
    Tower
  7. To kill a Mockingbird
  8. Life of Pi
  9. The Alchemist
  10. The Mayor of Casterbridge

For Teaser Tuesdays  at Should Be Reading:

“But Shakespeare is the man who made people believe there was an island owned by a magician (in The Tempest) and that statues could come to life by the power of love (in The Winter’s Tale).
He’s only Literature-with-a-capital-L until you put him back into context as an Elizabethan writer, not a 21stcentury idol. Then, once you discover the key to it all, reading Shakespeare’s poetry is a bit like following the clues in a Sherlock Holmes novel,……”

  1. You've got some great books on your Top Ten list! Of course Lord of the Flies should be on there, I forgot about that one. And I've been meaning to read Life of Pi for years it seems. Now that the movie is coming out, I'll really have to read it!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm following you back 🙂
