Did you know that emoji poetry is a type of poetry? Well, some younger ones might say, โ ๐๐ป (translates to duh yes)! With World Emoji Day coming up on the 17th of July, I decided to look a little more into emoji poetry and the how and what of it. Read on to check out the fun you can have with itโฆ or โ> Read ๐ 2๏ธโฃ โ out the ๐ซ ๐ซต ๐ฅซ ๐ซด with ๐ฎ๐น..

Poetic Sundays: Emoji Poetry
Emojis are here to stay so why not try to have fun with them. Here is one way to do so โ write emoji poetry. There is no specific way to go about it so todayโs post is just tips and ways you can come up with your own emoji poems.
Tips and More to Write Emoji Poetry
- If you want to keep it really simple, then use this site to create emoji poems (based onย this tweetย by Neale Pickett)
- Write a poem as you would normally; try to use as many words as you can that you know/think likely have an emoji associated with the word. Then use an online translator to translate to create emoji poetry! That is what I did today for my first attempt..
- Or try to use emojis that can convey more, and then have someone else interpret it (or an online translator) to get different poems.. Like with the poems you see here.

Laughter is the best medicine, they say
I agree with them, whoever be they
To add to that, I have a little something โ
Hugs and smiles can make hearts sing,
And even a single kind word
Can brighten a soul that feels unheard.
So letโs share laughter, love, and care,
And spread kindness everywhere.

On My Blog and Home-front
It has been a sweltering few days and the weather forecast shows more hot summer days too. We finally got our fence fixed โ part of it had fallen down in the 60+ mile winds earlier this year. And we have been having dinner al fresco the last couple of days โ it is so much nicer outdoors that time of the evening rather than indoors (hot!).
I am doing a psychology class online at the local community college, just because, and loving every minute of it. It is async, so it mostly watching the recorded videos and joining in on discussion posts. I am easily the oldest student in the class, based on what I can see in the responses (for most others are in high school or college and working towards a degree). So these discussion posts do offer whole new perspectives on things for me!!
