Ten Books I Really Wanted to Read, But Haven’t Yet

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday’s topic (hosted by ThatArtsyReaderGirl) is tough, since the number of books is actually too many (like for all of us for sure).. So I just went back a few years and picked randomly across the years.. and many other books are in similar lists I created in the past (but yet to read too many of them, sadly). I have linked those lists as well in this post.

I hope to get to this list of ten (at least a couple of them) over the next few weeks actually, and the rest by the end of the year. So here is my current list of (randomly picked among the countless)

Ten Books I Really Wanted to Read, But Haven’t Yet

  1. The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin (a 2014 antique) (Why: The title)
  2. The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd (another book I need to dust from the archives of 2014) (Why: the author)
  3. Time of Fog and Fire by Rhys Bowen (a 2016 relic) (Why: San Francisco)
  4. Louisiana’s Way Home by Kate DiCamillo (2018, this one) (Why: author)
  5. The Rosie Result by Graeme Simsion (from 2019) (Why: well, actually, it is the whole series that I need to read here!! – all the Rosies!)
  6. Anxious People by Fredrik Backman (from 2020) (Why: all the talk about this)
  7. The Nine by Gwen Strauss (2021) (Why: WWII & true story)
  8. The Girl Behind the Wall by Mandy Robotham (2021) (Why: historical and storyline)
  9. Firekeeper’s Daughter by Angeline Boulley (2021) (Why: well, because…)
  10. Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr (2021) (Why: another because…)

And Now, the End of This Post

Dear reader, have you read any of the books listed? If yes, which one would you recommend I read first? And even if there is any you think I can skip, let me know! I would love to hear your recommendations.

  1. I loved The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry- I hope you get to that one soon! I’ve also had The Invention of Wings on my bookshelf for ages, I really should read it already!
